Custom cabinet questions, answered
Cost, timelines, materials, and how the process works. If your question is not here, just ask.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Twin Falls and the surrounding Magic Valley, including Burley, Jerome, Kimberly, Filer, and Rupert. If you are near one of those, get in touch and ask.
How much do custom cabinets cost?
It depends on the size of the project, the wood you choose, the door style, and the finish. Custom costs more than stock because it is built to your space and made to last, but far less than most people expect once they see the difference. We give you an itemized written quote after a free consultation, so you get a real number, not a guess.
What is the difference between custom and stock cabinets?
Stock cabinets come in fixed sizes off a warehouse shelf, so they get cut down and filled in to fit your room. Custom cabinets are built to your exact measurements, in the wood, door style, and finish you pick, with the storage you actually need. The fit is tighter, the materials are better, and they last longer.
How long does a custom cabinet project take?
Most kitchen projects run several weeks from the final design to installation, and smaller projects like a vanity or a set of built-ins are quicker. Timelines depend on the size of the job and the finish. You get a realistic timeline in writing with your quote.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. The design consultation and quote are free and come with no obligation. We measure the space, talk through the project, and give you an itemized written price.
What wood species and door styles can I choose?
Common woods include maple, alder, hickory, oak, cherry, and walnut, in painted, stained, or two-tone finishes. Door styles range from clean shaker and flat slab to raised panel and furniture-grade inset. We help you match the look to your home during the consultation.
Do you do refacing, or only new cabinets?
Both. If your cabinet boxes are solid but the doors are dated, refacing or refinishing can give you a new look for less than a full replacement. If the layout is not working or the boxes are shot, new custom cabinets are the better spend. We tell you honestly which one fits your kitchen.
Will you install cabinets I bought somewhere else?
Yes. We install cabinets whether we built them or you bought them elsewhere. Everything is set level and plumb, scribed to the walls, and adjusted so the doors and drawers line up.
